Video of Chris Lovell's open weekend in August 2024 when the sun shone on both days. There was a good line-up of locomotives - mainly live steam but some battery and clockwork locos included. The track conditions were excellent and I tested to the limit with some high speed running on the down slope. We made use of the pointwork in the station / loco shed area to assemble trains and many times starting and ending a run by driving under steam

Thanks to Alex, Trevor, and William for use of their clips and to Neil Moore for use of his stills.

Special thanks to Chris and Beverly for their hospitality over the two days.

Hey Dave! Do you have any reccomendations/sources for O gauge live steam construction? I have 2 books on O guage(one titled How to Build an O Guage Locomotive and the Gloucester articles) but im looking for more current builds. I dont realy see anything online. Pictures would help. Ty!

Hard to believe that 4MT is live steam! Its speed was so consistent both up and down grade. Likewise the NE 2-8-0.

1. All these live steam locos must b scratch built? And perhaps the same
w the cars?

2. What's the exact scale used vs. the track gauge? 1/43.5 (Brit's), 1/48 (USA), bodies on 1 1/4" Ga tracks?

Are all these custom built or are they built from a kit? These look great!
