Glad I stumbled upon this video. I saw a beautiful parka from tnf on eBay and it was from overseas Japan. For some reason the summit series tag looked off to me. I compared it to a few north face jackets I have and the sleeve comparison you mention.
Long story short I didn’t buy it as that jacket had a tight sleeve summit series tag. Tried to ask the flag ship north face store but they didn’t know anything.

They’ve gotten better at making fake North Face items.. for me.. the smell out of whatever box you open after getting it in the mail from places like eBay or Amazon; is a dead give away. If the item has a strong chemical/factory type smell it’s not the real thing. Once you smell the smell of Chinese factory you never forget it and it’s identical across the board… the smell I mean.. it’s not like gasoline smell.. hard to describe. It’s like sour glue, fresh nylons, and clothing dye. North face items do have a sort of chemical smell but this will hit you in the face. It’s something you know if you put on without washing it’s guarantee carcinogenic.

Both are not actually original per se... One is a high class 1st copy(with higher level of perfection to detail), while the other is a "budget" option. Those who have been to Asia and in particular Nepal, will understand. The seller, outright tells you while selling, quoting which is "original", 1st copy and a budget option.

A floor up to last post based on your video not all jackets have the summit series logo on the LEFT sleeve solely.
The north face Met 5 battery operated jacket they released has the summit series logo on the RIGHT sleeves and I’ve concurred with some other collectors that some jackets have the logo on either side

What about vintage summit series? They nearly all have the logo on the right arm

just bought one of these jackets and i have my summit series logo on the right, because there is a side pocket with zip on the left. also have a goretex logo on the left wrist. goretex performance shell tag on the right hip. the etiquette inside doesn’t have the men/hommes that i usually see on my tnfs but it has this excess tag under the summit series, 100. haven’t used it at all im still on the process of checking all the tiny details. If you can tell by my description of its profoundness thank you in advance

the summit series can be on the right arm for the Baltoro Windstopper 700

I had one summit serie on right arm, only thing seem fake is no Hologram, It is very good quality

I got a nice one on Amazon with a white northface tag at the bottom right side. Is that fake? No logo on chest area

The original Baltoro Summit Series jackets had the SS logo on the right sleeve

I bought a child’s summit series jacket and it doesn’t have a logo on the arm at all. Is it possible it is authentic without an arm logo? Everything else seems to look authentic
