I love how Doug leaves the hospital, presumably with his wife, and his first thought exiting is "honey, this is an important moment, get a couple shots of me, the baby and the audi rs2 together".

Hey, Doug. Relay 363, on the driver side of the fuse panel is your problem. I had an RS2 also, and this was a common problem. The relay can be opened up, and the contacts cleaned, to solve the problem. This relay also controls the sunroof. For years, I drove around with the relay cover off, and when I had a problem, I just tapped the relay, to clear it. GL.

As Doug has said, he knows these cars are unreliable and stills enjoys them. He can afford to get them fixed, and he actually drives them! I envy him more than the car collectors with a priceless showroom full of cars they’ll never drive, just so they can keep or rise in value.

I'd say the battery is on its way out causing those issues.

Congratulations on the new member of the family, Doug. I hope the little one grows healthy and happy, collecting miles, quirks & features alongside his father. Thank you for the content!

I almost choked on my food when I saw the Nogaro RS4 B5 there with you. My ultimate dreamcar of all cars ever made. Can't wait until I finally see one here.

I think you can have a car when you have enough money to maintain the car even with it's reliability issues so it makes me happy to see Doug actually go out and buy whatever car he likes! There's no "Land Rovers are a bad financial decision" here!

Have a look at the soldered fuse box, I had an S2 previously and the solders in the fuse box were coming unconnected and caused similar issues with windows and rear lights. Great video 👍

Doug, I had a similar window issue with my BMW 1-series.
I took it out of storage, put the battery back in, and the grounding clamp broke without me noticing, resulting in a poor ground.

I entered the drivers seat normally, and was able to start up the car, but weird things kept happening with the locks and windows.
Most notably, the drivers window would NOT WORK at all, but work occasionaly for one or two seconds, maybe even a full minute, then stop working again.
The passenger window worked better, but also experienced the same problem of not working on occasion.

I deduced that the car had an electrical gremlin after being in storage, and the car was "conserving" power for only the essentails, like powering the drivetrain and guages.

Ended up replacing the broken ground clamp, and the car began operating normally. Windows were fine (thank god)

I like these videos every time Doug posts because he only makes them if there is genuine new content. He doesn’t make a video just to ramble for 20 minutes about nothing

Take a moment to appreciate Doug for giving the numbers both in metric and imperial! I know he's done it for years and we take it given, but still!

I met my newborn son in an Audi RS2. This was 14 years ago. My car is still with me. Great choice of car, Doug.
