Scott is a very good saxophone player, yet, the best, is quite a contested space.. He's one of the greats for sure..

Scott came to Japan about 30 years ago Fujitsu jazz festival but I really wanted go to his show. i’ve been listening to his saxophone now i’m 51 years old. i’m still want to go his show this is my dream please come to San Francisco. my favorite song is “East of the sun” still very beautiful

Scott hat die großartige Gabe, seine Phrasierungen mit großer Ruhe vorzutragen und durch Pausen an der richtigen Stelle zur Wirkung zu bringen. Das gibt seinem Vortrag Struktur und Ausdruck. Er unterscheidet sich damit wohltuend von der Tendenz, möglichst viele Töne in möglichst größtem Tempo vorzutragen.

When I had first happened upon the great artistry of this quite bad sax wizard I was about two years or so out my nostalgic teens and my early adulthood anxiously awaiting me with its alluring wink to its better knowing bosom. My maiden listening occassion of this mainstreamer was equally blessing my Jazzy keen ears with the tenor duo featuring the Great Scott with the already seasoned Buddy Tate. I never looked back. What musical harmony projection that makes his music agreeable is surely a boon to generations of music lovers the world over. His is the kind of music one could play for your grandma and pa even your kids and grandchilren without effecting generational strains. It soothes a broken heart and comforts a troubled mind. It reaches all out even to sprained emotional channels and revitalizes a love deal instead.
