Im over with the Assassins Creed series, a setting that would be interesting as a AAA title, only for Ubisoft to be stupid and make the game some side scroller, a damn shame

As always, visual department is exceedingly good and everyone else fukcs up. Why is this so common in both movies and video games? Why can't the writers and programmers be as creative as the visual artists? Why? WHY WHY

So basically Ubisoft releases two bad AC games (Unity & China) and everyone says that they've been done with the series for a long time and that it's over, such hypocrisy..

I do agree that they wasted a badass female assassin who's trained by Ezio but I don't know the ending of this game but I'm pretty sure they can just make a 3D China game even after this (she probably doesn't die)
Anyways I'd prefer an AC in Japan over China but I want a full AC game with a female assassin so bad!! (Liberation doesn't count)

Stopped playing AC a long time ago. I must say that this would have been the game to bring me back to the they didn't make it an AAA title. I get baffled by the sort of decisions these big companies make.

Everybody complains too much. Im a big fan of the original AC series and took a chance on this buying all 3 on disk. Currently playing China and its actually really fun and a great change of pace. Rather than grumble, give it a go. You might be suprised. I was!

People who love games like Mark of the ninja will absolutely love this game.
A really fun and stealthy game. Like in Mark of the Ninja levels can be played multiple times following one of the paths, a shadow, assassin or brawler. The game delivers a much better graphic engine than mark of the ninja. Great game! great setting! well done AC team :)

The reviewer should be fired for putting too much of his own preferences into the review. Clearly not a fan of sidescrollers or has any idea what makes them good. There are many people who enjoy a great side scroller and not some same old same old boring assassins creed.

Honestly I just started playing Assassin's Creed in November 2014, (started with Black Flag & Unity on the xbox one bundle and I wanted to know the whole story so I bought every single one) anyways I must say out of the 8 assassin's creed games and I've only played 7, I think that assassin's creed 1, 2, brotherhood and revelations are the best ones. My personal favorite so far is brotherhood, but I've never played Rouge.

OK, I like the game. It's good (not as great as Mark of The Ninja) and a nice change of pace from the usual open world main entries. Now I want to see an open world Assassin's Creed game or at least a new open world IP set in China (or a completely fictional place inspired by China/Japan/Korea). The main focus being the combat which you can choose from hand-to-hand combat, which you can choose from different Xiaolin techniques, that you can further improve through various weapons. Hell, even make almost everything at the environment interactive for creative combat like a Jackie Chan movie. Of course, I would like to see the game with the similar artstyle as Chronicles: China. If Clover Studios can make Okami a beautiful open world game with the inky artstyle, I don't see any reason why other studios shouldn't try (other than the fact that they want to save money and sell certain contents as DLC)

I downloaded this game on the PS4 for $10 and I don't see the problem. I thoroughly enjoy 2D games and realize I'm probably older than most on here, but this game has some great pieces and moments if you just give it a chance. If you must have your 3D game, go play Black Flag or God of War, but this game deserves more credit than people here are giving it.

I love the art style and I think the 'hand drawn' cut scenes could translate over to a AAA title very well but this just seems like a wasted opportunity.

I feel like this one was a real make or break - if it did well then we could get the two-three highly anticipated settings in big standalone titles. I doubt we'll ever get that after this...

it's not only a lukewarm copy of mark of the ninja, it's also shorter and has less variety, I will be waiting for some deal were the game is 75% off (and if it doesn't ever get such a deal I will not be getting it at all)
