In this video I look at some weird and wonderful details in the narrative of Genesis 1 and show how they resolve into a beautifully designed foreshadowing.

The Bible is the greatest work of literary genius. And The Bible is Art is a YouTube Channel devoted to explaining this literary art in all its sophistication, elegance, and design.

Another friend says that He who inhabits eternity steps into 'time as we know it' in part signifying His desire and His willingness, His purpose and His plan to be with us. And in the Creation account He sets the pattern for the week. Thanks for sharing your perspective.

BRILLIANT!! I’ve been studying the temple theology, if you will, for more than 1 1/2 yrs. and the restoration plan of the L-RD. This blends right with it! Absolutely Brilliant. ❤️🙏🏼 My heart is singing. Note the 7th day has no evening and it doesn’t end.., it was made Holy at the get go... Halleluyah!

Really enjoyed the"small" weird thing of night going to day. It's a far more hopeful picture than day leading to night! Thank you!

Just found your videos while looking for resources on reading the Bible as literature. Great videos! Thanks for sharing your insights! Of the books you have listed on the video descriptions, are there a few that stand out above the rest? The Art of Biblical Narrative is on my list (I've really enjoyed Robert Alter's translation of the Hebrew Bible). Also, any recommend online resources with a focus on literary structures or the Bible as literature?

I love the part about transitioning from evening to morning after a period of rest/sleep (death). It reminds me of baptism.

"Romans 6:3–7 (LEB)
3 Or do you not know that as many as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we have been buried with him through baptism into death, in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so also we may live ⌊a new way of life⌋. 5 For if we have become identified with him in the likeness of his death, certainly also we will be identified with him in the likeness of his resurrection, 6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified together with him, in order that the body of sin may be done away with, that we may no longer be enslaved to sin. 7 For the one who has died has been freed from sin.
