1) the literal part -- the place where the Brooklyn Nets are headquartered (the Barclays) is near where he used to sell drugs (throwing bricks)
2) the stone's throw / bricks parallel
3) "throwing a brick" is a basketball term for a shot hitting the backboard (more Nets stuff)
4) New York Knicks = another basketball team
5) toss around knicks = selling nickel bags
