Could we see any FINAL FANTASY games at the Tokyo Game Show!? Well I have some WILD theories to share with you all, that might end up being totally true! Haha!

I agree with you completely about the animated series - I think it will explore some of the characters’ pasts in the lead up to the game, such as Zidane running away from home and travelling with Freya, or just Tantalus shenanigans with the others sprinkled in. If all this comes true and it’s actually amazing, I don’t even know what I’ll do with myself!! 🤯

I'd love to see an FFIX remake, but I want an FFVI remake more. Given that it is widely considered the greatest FF of all time - wouldn't following up the FFVII Remake Trilogy with an FFVI Remake just make all sorts of sense?

It seems it's commonly believed that FF9 will be a small budgeted remake which I don't think is the case at all. Yoshi-P has commented about it recently that if FF9 were to "theoretically" be remade, it's a grand and monumental task. He even mentioned that the scale of it would be longer than FF7 storywise so it will be a huge undertaking. Now being part of the board of directors he wouldn't say such things if FF9 is modestly budgeted, assuming the remake exists. So I 100% believe the game is a lot larger and grander in scale than we originally anticipated. Granted I don't think it will be a 3 parter like 7, but the reason I think he called it a huge undertaking is because they plan to make it on the same quality as 7, but cover the entire game from start to finish not 3 parts so that's understandably a tall ask.

Regarding it's announcement on TGS, I actually don't think we won't hear about it on there, or anything this year, for that matter. Personally I think the best time to announce it is on the anniversary itself next year. Having it released on the anniversary puts them on a deadline so I think the best approach is to just officually announce the game on the anniversary, then the actual release can then be arbitrary on the same fiscal year.

I love FF13. I think it was deeply misunderstood. The truly fantastic setting was boosted with one of the best soundtracks of any modern FF. I have 3 Platinums. I even replayed the first on a new account to platinum it again!

I could do without a XIII trilogy remake, at least not if it means foregoing an IX remake. Not because I don't like the games, I love them, but because I think they are largely un-needed (unless you want them on console). The steam versions all support some amazing HD upgrade mods as it is. IX also has the amazing Mogouri mod, but there is only so much it can do. SE should really hire the folks that have done the UE5 remake of the IX intro sequence.

What exactly would a FFXIII remake look like? Would it be considerably different from the original in the same way FFVII remake is? What does SE mean by wanting to make it into a remake and not a remaster? I'd probably be happy either way but I am definitely curious now.

I want something - don't care which specific game - that gets remade and has the same level of characterization present in Remake/Rebirth. The quality of that presentation is just unparalleled, better than even some of the best films, let alone best video games, of all time. So if they could rewrite FF13 to really make the dialog pop and get me emotionally invested in the relationships between the characters like FF7 does, that would be a dream come true! Incidentally, Lightning's voice actress is in the new Dragon Age game, so looking forward to that as well.

I've been hearing about this 9 remake for years, and nothing has been confirmed. At the rate this company gets things done, I'll never see an FF 6 remake. Seeing their treatment for 7, that might not be a bad thing, though.

Instead of remakes, why not focus money and time on talent to make brand new and superior FF stories? Are we so out of ideas?

I will not officially give up hope on FF IX Remake until one of 2 things happen.

1. A FF XVII is officially announced

2. Or a different FF main series title is announced to be getting a Remake

I feel if either of those 2 things happen first, then enough time would have past that word and confimation of FF IX Remake itself would have fizzled out to nothing left besides cope.
