In an about-turn from the economic liberalisation days of 1991 when India shipped out gold and pledged it overseas to avert a looming financial crisis, the country has now shipped in a little over 100 tonnes of its gold reserves held in the UK.

Next step, India should offer Gold Storage services for Global South countries for a small fee. They can bring their gold reserves stored in London, New York, Switzerland, etc and store in India. If the colonial powers want to store their gold in India they can do so after they pay back the gold they looted during colonial exploitation and slavery.
