When you need an example of "you watch but don't see" and "you hear but don't listen".

She could describe him in details, but doesn't recognize him. This is what we call selective blindness. Her eyes see him, but the cognitive part of her brains tells her who she is looking at is not him. Have you ever tried looking for your misplaced keys where you have looked "carefully" at all places only to find out the keys are at a place that you swear you have looked at several times? The reason is your eyes actually can see the keys but your brains tells you that the keys cannot possibly be there because it is so unexpected. This is looking but not seeing.

In Japan, to see if there are still anyone on the platform before closing the doors, train drivers would not only look at the platform but point at it with their hands. This extra gesture helps them cognitively see what they look at.

I’m sad for people that think it’s fake. Very few people can act genuinely shocked or surprised or amazed or confused. Nobody would fall for this show if all the hundreds of people he tricks were actors. It would be so obvious. And it should be obvious to everyone that the reactions are real.

dunno why but this show has the best actors in the whole world... their reactions and facial expressions beat hollywood actors hands down all the time

People rather believe the show is fake because they feel smart thinking they are not "fooled". In reality, as fascinating as this show is, the tricks are easier done than to actually hire so many "professional actors" to make it seem real (by easier, I mean not only effort wise, but also fund wise). In other words, if those people are truly intelligent, they will see the show as it is, a talented magician with a group of amazing crews assisted by technology to make the show come true.
