Oswald is one of those NickJr Shows that I categorize as melancholic. Where its music feels wistful and even a bit sad. Two other shows in this category are Miss Spider and Little Bear. The music from these three shows also remind me of the score to the 1972 Alice In Wonderland film and would have fit in that movie.

I never really watched saw the show but a few scattered memories in my mind. There are more intros/shows i am nostalgically attatched too. Say Blue’s Clues, Wonder Pets, Peep and the Big Wide World, The UpsideDown Show, etc.

And these shows have kick ass intros that gets my adrenaline pumped. Some are so catchy i can never get them out of my head. Some represent the show and what its about in under a minute. Some are just flat out bonkers. Some can do all of this at once. But i just cant deny this masterpiece of a score, mood, and calm visuals. The tone it captures makes me look back at my entire life growing up. All of the times sleeping over at my cousins. The games ive played for years. The friends i have made. The lives that have made me into the person i am forever. It makes me look at the simple beauty of life on earth and how we play a role in other’s life when we may not realize it. No theme/intro captures that in the way this does.

Again, i did see this show much. I have scattered patches of this show in my memory. Compared to others where i can memorize the plots of episodes and specials. Even if this show’s premise was numb to view, the characters were not engaging or awful, the visuals were making your eyes bleed, i still rank this show’s intro/outro probably at #1 still.

If this series had a second season Disney should really succeed Hit Entertainment as well as ownership of Hit's share in the first season of Oswald.
