i'm thinking of actual mechanics for each character

dave: you will be able to earn golden coins by hitting specific notes, these prepare you for garrett's mechanic

garrett: he will steal
golden coins from you. if you don't have any left, he will directly attack you, making you lose HP and making dave angry.

after dave becomes angry, he will no longer give coins (only applies after garrett gets his last part)

green alien monitor: damage notes. these give you a lot of hp, but makes you unable to press notes for the rest of your turn

diamond man: the screen turns blue when diamond man starts going and your notes move with diamond man. diamond man's notes will be more transparent in this mechanic.

playrobot: jump rope. if you fail to jump over it, you lose hp and gain a miss. very original *sad hypno noises*

the jump rope gets faster when dave infects playrobot with the virus usb
