'For How Long?': India Openly Attacks USA, UK, France, China, Russia Over UNSC Expansion | Watch

India challenged the hegemony of five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, asking how long will the will of the five members override the collective will of 188 member states. “This must change,” said Ruchira Kamboj, India’s permanent representative at the United Nations while calling for UNSC reforms. This comes after External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that India would get the permanent seat at UNSC, but not easily. Tesla boss Elon Musk recently said that India not having a permanent seat at the UNSC was “absurd”.

UN & especially the UNSC is an obsolete organisation that was made after the WW2 but no longer reflects the realities of the 21st century & beyond. Just controlled by 5 countries, 2 of which are dictatorships(China & Russia) & rest 3 are white countries(US, France, UK). It is not at all a democratic organisation when 5 countries have more weight over 190+ countries

She’s not asking for a permanent status of India, rather she acknowledged that the permanent status of 5 countries is not going to change. She’s simply demanding a reproach in the inequalities of those 5 countries whose decisions overrides the other countries. Well said and a bold move by India
