On January 19th at 10:30am Eastern a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched a specially configured Crew Dragon in a deliberate attempt to prove that the Dragon Capsule could survive and return astronauts safely to earth in the event of a catastrophic failure of the booster. The test went well with the booster dramatically exploding in mid-air shortly after Crew Dragon initiated its abort, pulling away with its mighty SuperDraco engines and splashed down gently in the Atlantic Ocean.

That was a test of the Dragon Capsule’s escape system. You can see the capsule separating from the second stage before separation. Successfully test, before being certified for carrying astronauts.

"nope, fuck that" would be an accurate discription of what just happened

I'm no payload specialist, but I think that was a success.

I was expecting more acceleration and distance than that. Not what you want to see with 60, 000+ lbs of fuel behind you. Practically kissing the dragon.
