1:23 "This is probably gonna be about... two hours"

But, instants CAN'T be cast in response to anything! Mana abilities, playing a land, and split second all come to mind. Naughty first layer! EDIT: Oh it's THAT kind of "layers" chart, where earlier layers are just false. Mmm

I'm a Magic veteran and am following just fine so far. I am excited to see the future videos and really learn some obscure stuff!

You're one of my fave channels for a lot of rules interactions. I hope to know as much as a judge so that I can be the best suited in my table to help with these kinds of issues.

"This is probably going to be about..2 hours." *Me, looking at the recommended bar on the side* I doubt that

6:35 Wait, to be put from the battlefield into it's owners graveyard still counts as that creature dying, right? But they die without being destroyed or sacrificed, yes?
So, because of that, there are three ways a creature can die: Being destroyed, being sacrificed, and being paradox'd. Are there any other ways something can die?

How can dungeon be a card type? It functions more as a token or emblem since it cant be interacted with outside of the "venture" mechanic and it's not a card that would be in your actual deck. Also great video! enjoying your content!

I play the legacy format in hearthstone because I really enjoy playing turn 4-6 otk decks. I used to play Tezzerat Affinity in legacy. Now that they've introduced stuff like Zephrys I don't feel like playing anymore. Where most cards have 14 lines of code, Zephrys has over 3000 lines of code that help him decide what three cards to present to you and they will always solve one of the problems you are currently faced with. If there's a possibility for lethal, Zephrys will always give you lethal.

13:34 Huh I don't really get a thing, what happens if an attacking creature w trample is declared blocked by Curtain of Light, for example? I mean, would u still get all the combat damage it is suposed to give you?

12:50 Somewhat noteworthy is that, if the attacking creature has Trample, and they are blocked, but then the blocking creature goes away (from being bounced/sacrificed/phased out/whatever), then 100% of the damage goes to the defending player, as if that Trampler was blocked by a 0/0 creature.
It's kinda funny when I'm playing MTGA, I attack with a creature with Trample, and then my opponent blocks my creature with an Eyetwitch and they then sacrifice it to cast Village Rites. Like, you could've done that during my end step, and it would've made literally no difference!

Is there a link to the image version you're using for this please? The ones I can find are slightly different

But manaweaving isn't totally illegal. It is illegal to present a woven (stacked) deck to an opponent to tap, cut ot shuffle. If the weave is followed by several solid riffles (7 riffles is the average number I've seen on statistics papers about randomizing a deck), there is no longer any known order to the deck and the deck is randomized, fully presentable to an opponent and legal by DCI standards. You can still get flooded or screwed, but a lot of players (be they weavers or complainers) do feel that it's less likely if you started with an evenly-distributed deck, so the antiweavers want to scream "CHEAT" when all a weaver did was take a shortcut to randomizing a deck.

Are there judges that don't understand the rules that they're supposed to enforce and warn (or DQ) a player in the middle of doing a 5-pile shuffle (not checking if he's actually shuffling after the "double nickel")? Yes. Are there players that get unreasonably upset over spotting a weave before shuffling? Absolutely. But it is totally legal to stack a deck *provided you sufficiently shuffle afterwards*, and if everyone's going to act hostile over seeing any form of weaving, then it's going to be done to the deck before the weaver shows up to the event.

Stacking a deck before a shuffle isn't cheating. It never will be, because what you do with your deck between games or in the privacy of your home is no one else's business.

Does anyone know if the stack is different to chains in Yu-Gi-Oh? In Magic, can you resolve some effects on the stack and then play an instant and grow the stack again?

I thought tribal was a supertype like basic, legendary, or world. There is no card that is just "a tribal".

"Other games struggle with not having a stack"
What? What game has instant speed effects but not a stack equivalent? Every game I've seen either has the stack renamed, Is Yugioh with chains, or limits your ability to use abilites in response to other abilities.

Colorless is not a color within the rules, but since battle for zendikar it is functionally the 6th color (in the sense that is has a mana symbol that when in a cost cannot be paid by any other color). Not to be confused with generic mana costs, which truly are color blind.
