1. Needs to be challenging but not too challenging
2. Anchoring - internal emotion linked to external action
3. Anxiety is actually excitement
4. Remaining present
5. Visualization beforehand

“Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves.

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.”

I also think a huge part of Jon's success is momentum. Jon has been winning for over a decade straight now, which inspires a level of confidence through external repetition & validation

My takeaway:
To be on flow means to be balanced between anxiety and boredom.
If you are losing a path, repeat an anchor (same action ~ same feeling/ Maslows effect) to bring you back.
Change you attitude through positive affirmation for the present, to change from anxiety to excitement.
Stay as present as possible
Prepare yourself as good as possible and repeat how you are achieving what you want, will help you to be strong at your weakest points.

Jon Jones is like a God of War. There is no other place he belongs. He seems to have trouble in every part of life but as soon as he is in the cage, he ascends to a really incredible place. Too bad he cant apply that to everything else

Jon is literally a psychopath but found the perfect profession for himself. just the way he talks and thinks in action and reaction and the way it translates to his fighting and the way he studies is on another level

The deep visualization technique is something that Gilbert Burns has also talked in depth during a Brazilian podcast called Connect Podcast.
Also talked about coming to term with what will happen during the fight. What he'll have to endure and inflict on his opponents and truly coming to terms with accepting that he'll enjoy hurting them. Which is is something that according to him most fighters are unable to accept about themselves. Which is why they have inconsistent performances.
It makes sense to me, I mean look at Fedor. That was a man that couldn't be broken. You could just look at him and see that that was a man that wasn't in war with himself.

Truly amazing. This is the best mma commentary video that certainly i have ever seen. Really something special and probably the first person to notice these key techniques jones uses and put it in a video. Thanks for making this masterpiece im absolutely gonna use these especially flow and studying opponents which is massively undervalued. Cant go into a fight blind. Also this can be applied to any life Situation and make it a lot easier to go trough and make the best of it.

There is nothing wrong with having butterflies as long as you can get them to fly in formation. Life changing!

Christian Craighead (former 22 SAS) mentioned this flow state when he was involved with the Nairobi Terror Attack when he went in alone and took care of business...said he never felt that level of flow state in his entire career compared to that day. Everything was aware....it's truely Amazing!

I love the way you elaborate the behaviour of these fighters in this channel. This is immensely important to us since we invariably cope with the same situations and we can use the same actions of these fighters to overcome our adversity. Keep uploading great contents !

This video is great. Succinct, accurate and well-articulated breakdown of flow state. Really puts the concept into perspective and shows how applicable it is to everyone's lives, fighter or otherwise. A+
