Every man has this thought occasionally, especially when they want something for themselves. It's always fleeting and immediately replaced by the joy of my son calling for me the moment I open the front door.

He's just a little guy, not even 2 years old. But the moment our front door opens, he is stumbling and laughing his way right into my arms. And in that moment, there is nothing i want more than to pick him up, hug him, kiss him on the forehead, and ask him how his day was. Then we play a bit, and my wife let's me relax when he gets tired of me. Those 30-60 minutes are the highlight of my day, every day. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

I was a musician before I married my wife. I will most likely be one again in the future. I miss the time I spent living as a musician, but it would take absolute insanity for me to choose that life over my son.
