If you want the best view of Prague castle, take the Kings road (Karlova street) from Old town square very early in the morning on a sunny day. And as a bonus you'll have Charles bridge almost for yourself.
Fun fact about Petřín tower, its height from Vltava river to the top of the tower is the same as height of Eiffel tower (not a coincidence)
