Committee members really shouldn’t be active employees of any of these colleges. It’s really that simple.

if yall value strength of schedule why Notre Dame get in every year? ND isn't in a conference and play a cupcake schedule but y'all place them in every year for them to get blown out by 40

Can we just appreciate how good Rece is at his job? Most under appreciated sports reporter in the business.

I think Oregon was positioned intentionally to have to face Ohio State (assuming they beat Tennessee), to make sure that their win against the Buckeyes earlier in the season was not a fluke...

Why is an AD in charge of the committee

This is the same man who said that no change would happen this week

Why is anyone talking about this? Committee got it right! Bama has no business being in the playoffs!

how did the ACC manage to have Miami Clemson and SMU avoid each other during regular season ??? That should be investigated

Bama lost 3-games, 2 of those losses were from unranked Oklahoma and Vanderbilt. You want in the playoffs then don’t lose to unranked teams & stop scheduling an FCS team Mercer.

If it wasn't for dabo putting a heavy letter of recommendation, they would put Alabama in

Bama blew it end of story. U can’t have 2 horrible losses and expect to be in the playoffs

I love the 12 teams, I don’t like the automatic bye for winning a conference. Automatics bid=yes that’s good with me. They should reseed when the 12 teams are picked. Some of these paths are so easy and some will be a gauntlet.

Clemson is the 16th ranked team in the country, gets an automatic bid because they won a pretty weak ACC, Arizona state is ranked 12 and is a top 4 seed because once again, they won a pretty weak Big12. You’re putting too much emphasis on conference championships and not enough on SOS and SOR. So by that logic you’re saying that had Clemson lost to the citadel and app state they still would have gotten an automatic bid to the playoffs, makes absolutely zero sense.

If I knew he was from Michigan I would have known it would suck badly. It does.

Most of the comments are about a Alabama team losing to mediocre teams which is true. What’s astounding is how little focus is on the fact that SMU didn’t have one quality win against anyone. They dropped Miami out who at least had one quality win. The committee is a joke but fortunately NIL ruined the sport so it means much less in the scheme of things.

They value SOS which is why Bama is higher than it should be. But they also value losses to really bad teams, and Bama had two terrible losses that should disqualify them. Win the games you supposed to win regardless of SOS. Teams don't have that much control over SOS, but they do have control over losing to crappy teams.

11 wins vs 9, hard to justify a 9 win team in the playoff

Sad thing is even though this is the fairest system ever for determining a national championship you knew there'd be crying. Like Herbstreit said very year after 68 teams are picked for March Madness someone finds a reason to whine that it's not fair.

This will take some pressure off Bama. They can always say they understand the decision and go on to play a consolation bowl and not have to be embarrassed in the playoffs if Low Tide shows up.
