I was born, raised and have CHOSEN to stay in my hometown in nebraska…..I lived in a metro area 2 hours from home for 2 years for college and HATED it, moved home and commuted my last semester before graduation. I despise when people belittle those of us who aren’t ‘worldly’ as in living our lives in the same place—this is my new anthem!! Gonna move to my husbands family’s 180 acres about 40 minutes away (same state) so we can expand our ‘family’ and add horses, chickens, more dogs, more barn cats, some cattle, etc once our son is out of high school/husband can get a job closer to the farm. 1 bedroom, 1 office/spare room for son, big living room/kitchen and porch facing south with views east and west with rolling pasture land, 90 year old barn my husbands grandfather built on his own taking trees by horse to the saw mill, giant shed for tractor, 4 wheelers, etc and no homes, no highways in sight!! Single gravel lane to the house. Our 10 acres now is great but 180 4 miles from a town with only 86 people is Heaven on earth (outskirts of heaven)
