Rhipsalis is my favorite plants. I have several and I have mine on the covered part of my deck. They get partial morning sun and are doing great. I live in Northeast Tennessee.

I loooove my Rhipsalis, it's supper low maintenance and can handle lower light.  I water mine when the leaves get soft kinda like little raisins, which is about once a month sometimes less. It also has supper cute yellow flowers when it's in brighter light.
It's easy to propagate, you can pick off sections from its little nodes/joints, and they root up quickly in soil.

your self control is impressive, Melissa, buying only one Christmas Cactus!! I have 2 and hang them on the back deck during the summer, where they look magical at The Golden Hour, almost glistening. Thirsty little buggers though, which always surprises me since they look like cactus/succulents. thanks for the shopping trip where I spent not one cent LOL

Rhipsalis. Is a very easy cactus. I keep mine in the windowsill of my west facing window. It tolerates it very well. Mine is over two feet long. It just keeps putting out new leaves and they first grow straight up then bifurcate and leans over to the ground. I don’t know if you can cut it and stick in water but I’ll bet you could just divide it through the roots and have two or more plants.

That is a beautiful rhipsalis. I am getting my first one (cashiro) delivered today!! :-) I guess that I can look into how to take care of them. The Pink Trellis did a very nice video recently on the care of them.

I had some decent luck lately in stores in my area. A chocolate anthurium, an 8 inch pot of moonlight philodendron, a green rex begonia, and a big pot of chocolate drop cactus.
