this also works with the game "personal trainer walking" not just a pokemon game im currently do this. i bought two copies for around $14 in total on DK oldies... crazy i know but thats the best price i found for them ($7 + free shipping). works just as good.

Currently doing this with Soulsilver on my modded 3DS! Using my old Heartgold cartridge for the IR sensor, I was so pleased to learn that the Pokewalker and trading works with it!

Theoretical idea: could the pokewalker work with a romhack of HGSS like sacred gold while its being played from the Ds console itself AND while having the required cartridge to connect?
