A very long, busy duty day.

MilSpouse on Duty Day is my vlog journey to share how we use our time when my husband, active duty in the Navy, is on Duty. I use this day to run errands, clean the house, and take the kiddos on little adventures- and share it with you!

Duty Day, in the navy, is when the service member stays overnight on the ship for work purposes. They rotate this duty day each week (every 3rd day, every 4th day, etc)

About Me:
I’m a millennial mom and military spouse navigating actual adulthood. We are a realistic, modern family chasing joy with affordable travel (road trips, day trips, weekend trips), and touring the city we call home in this moment. We love brunch and breweries, and trying the newest flavor of cold brew. You can find us somewhere along the east coast, probably in Norfolk, Virginia… or wherever our wandering (or the navy) takes us next.

Spouse is away and you cant call and say hey hun I need you to come home the laundry machine broke now it’s water everywhere now. He is not close to be able to help when pipes burst or you get sick at the same time as your child/children the cars need to be fixed you live far away from family in a state you might just moved to. sleeping at night is hard because you trying not to think about what if the knock comes on your door.
You are a dad that now have to figure out ponytails princess dresses first period she is not anywhere close to be able to make the ouches go away you have to clean the home cook the kids dinner while fixing the lawn but the baby needs the bottle his work boots are still not dry
Being a military spouse is not a 8h job it’s a 24/7 life that so many don’t understand
