There are all sorts of interesting ways to stay in shape or train to be a pro fighter, but these exercises are some of the most misguided and dangerous I've seen. #shorts

As a rule: Don't take advice on being punched in the head from someone who regularly gets punched in the head because that guy may well have brain damage from being punched in the head.

probably better off training to dodge hits rather than take them...

This is one of those times when you literally don't have to be a doctor to realize this is the dumbest thing.

Been doing kickboxing for years but have been quitting from time to time due to schedule but i can say that hitting the abdomen is a good way to build up tolerance but as doc said, hitting the head is indeed unheard of

This guy is a great coach. I was one of his students. Too bad I forgot the training already.

If your doing this I wouldn’t be as worried about concussions as I would be long term brain damage or idiotosis

Interesting fact:
Muhammad Ali was a well-known boxer and he has never refused to give autographs to his fans. When he was a young boy, he asked for the autograph from Sugar Ray Robinson and he refused. It influenced him so much that Ali promised to give autographs to all his fans.

Back when I did Tae-Kwan Do I used to take hits to the head while sparring to "intimidate" my opponents and convince myself how tough I was. I was really good and in phenomenal shape, but that was so dumb, and it left me with a severe concussion due to years of microconcussion build up that nearly killed me from a hit to the head while sparring when I was 16. We used to go hard, and I was sparring with adults by the time I was 12; not because I was that good, but because I was that arrogant and thought that I needed the ego boost. I required 8 months of neurological and physical therapy and am still predisposed to concussions, so no head contact sports for me after that. I've definitely chilled out with age and now analyze martial arts for purely practical self-defense methods. I have my own little system I like to refine, pepper spray, throat strikes, practical solutions. The sport of it left me long ago.

It is cute how people think they can train themselves to be able to resist being hit in the head.

Your brain is literally bouncing off of your skull. There is no training that is going to make you resistant to concussions.

Coaches that find excuses to hit their students should not be teaching fight sports. It's the wrong attitude to take into competition, it's the wrong atmosphere for the longevity of the sport, it's harmful to the young people who trust you as their Coach/trainer. Ultimately you can be an amazing teacher without punching your students in the face.

For equilibrium we would for 5 front rolls, 5 back rolls, spin 5 times, then we gotta block incoming punches. This a SAFER and BETTER alternative, pls don’t get punched in the head training if your gonna get your fair share of brain inflammation once you get in the cage.
