If you plant the bottom roots, leaving at least an inch will get continuous green tops, will regrow

We call them Scallions…that’s what Mom always called them. These are my favorite onions hands down. So tasty!

Set the bottoms in a little bit of water for a second harvest. 😉 Blessings and greetings from Chicagoland.

Knowledgeable, well versed in the subject so can readily impart that knowledge. I do like learning from you. Even at 70, we still can!

Oh wow…I just did this Darcy! Their conditioning on my counter right now. I also just finished Chives. Their keeping my onions company on the counter. I love both of these and us them a lot in my cooking. I was surprised how fast they dehydrated. Yum….so good

I replant the roots. I bought a pack from trader joe's in 2019 and have re-harvested 3 years in a row now!

I was wondering how to use my spring onions to enjoy in the winter. Thank you so much.

This is good for DIY instant noodles soup.

I grow the green onions in a styrofoam box. They sit outside in summer and inside the house in winter. They grow well all year round.

I also regrow still using some I planted about 12 month's ago they started as store bought. Aloe would like to say a huge thank you to you, I have extremely fussy kids has autistic tendencies and the other doesn't like almost all vegetables. Your posts on green powder and vegetable powder have made it so easy to get a huge variety of vegetables in their diet, they have even comment that some of the meals taste better. :)

I put one of my huge cutting boards over the top of a drawer for extra counter space.

Clear and concise and good camera work. Like how you didn't put us through all the chopping. Like your offered advice. Thank you.

I love your videos! You’ve taught me so much! Thank you so much!!! You’re my Dehydrating Guru! I have zucchini chips dehydrating now…..Flavored! I can’t wait till they’re dried! Even my husband is excited! I’d rather have natural “snacks” than the “heaven knows what’s in them” snacks! I appreciate all you do and don’t care if you’re messy….I’m the same way”! 😂❤😂

I had a garden full of home grown this year and I froze and dehydrated. I do as you do and use bottom parts as regular onions when cooking. Great video.

Thanks! I have not had the dehydrator running for a bit and some inspiration was sorely needed. My green onions look like they will be pretty abundant this year and soon they will be available pretty cheap at local farmers’ markets. What a nice bit of spring to put in the pantry to brighten a winter meal. Allergies have been a beast already this spring and now grasses are blooming. Prayers for all who are suffering and that your son is feeling better.

I will definitely try this when the farmer's market opens. I bet these would be great in egg rolls!
