Jacob Collier uses microtones (in between the notes of the western evenly tempered system) so may sound off to some people; but I find him intriguing. Very interesting musician ✌😎👍

Thanks heaps Lockie...Golden Hour was sweet, Track 10 Together Again was a standout. I can recommend the band Brasstracks. Have a great weekend.

I really enjoy the same balanced, nuanced approach you give to these album reviews as you do your gear reviews. I gave the the first few songs of The Golden Hour a listen. Your characterization of taking smooth jazz to another level perfectly prepared me for it. My ears perked up every time Cory’s guitar added crunch to the music. I’ll come back to listen to the rest of it, and then move onto Kimbra. Thanks for the recommendations.

Oh man, I have recommended the first one to a zillion people and bought 3 versions of it. I can’t wait

Very cool! I've been listening to a few albums lately (not suggestions for Lachlan but for viewers): Jeremiah Johnson Hi-Fi Drive By, Eddie 9V Capricorn, Natalia LaFourcade De Todas Las Flores, Gregory Porter Still Rising, Miranda Lambert Palomino, The Cranberries Something Else, L'Imperatrice Tako Tsubo & Matahari, Parcels Day/Night & Live Vol. 1

Wow that Kimbra album is really cool. She might vie for top spot with my love affair for Kah-Lo as my favourite electro rocky pop do her own thang female artist lol😊

Love this concept Lachlan, always great to find good music to enjoy on the precious gear we spend so much time on. How about a discussion on which platform will help get the most from your system? I’m using Apple Lossless from an iPad or sometimes an Apple Mac into a Burson Conductor R amp/dac and paired with the Arya Stealth. Is Apple Lossless allowing me to get the most out of my system?

Jacob Collier's "In my room" album is great! But actually never thought about him after that one. So will have to seek him out some more.

I'm getting dizzy looking at this vid. Is it filmed in 15fps?

Sorry, not my taste at all. As far as "almost" audiophile quality.. not even close. What is your reference system?

Nice video! But.... I'd at least button up one button on your shirt. Oh, thanks to the slave overseers at Linsoul for making this episode possible.

Like the two album format. I didn't know Jacob Collier from YouTube, I just stumbled on his music a month or two ago. I don't think it would be an issue if you feature well known musicians because that's no guarantee everyone knows and for those that do, sometimes having another point of view can give you a new appreciation or you might give it a listen when you otherwise wouldn't have.
I really enjoyed your first suggestion in this series. One of the rare albums I can "hit play and walk away." Looking forward to these next suggestions, especially Cory and the Wong notes/golden hour.

Unrelated but I meant to reply back to another comment regarding musical terms. I really like learning about music and I think it's ok to sparingly use terms. For instance, after you mention the plucking of strings in your example, you can follow up with "also known as pizzicato." But I understand why you wouldn't. I won't take personal offense and unsubscribe lol
Sorry for such a long post!

When a female "singer" sounds like every other female singer? Oh, it's not real music when it issues forth from a fricken keyboard. I'm apprehensive in trying the second.
