Oakland Unified School District's board of education on Wednesday once again rejected a proposal to save some schools already slated for closure or consolidation. The district meeting became confrontational when a chair was thrown toward the stage where board members sat.

Average home price in Oakland is $990, 000. Property tax is .82% and home sales are still increasing 20% over last year…

It is sad the majority of the Oakland School Board members would not work with the community and come with a resolution. It is time for the community to come vote the the school board members out of office this fall.

These folks came to a board meeting dressed in jeans? That says alot right there... But If these parents really cared, they'd pay for private education or move their kids to a better district.

They can't just say not to close the schools. They need a solution to the budget short-fall.

&&&& this is so sad ... The old mayor of Chicago Ron Emmanuel closed down 50 school in the low income black areas .. 50 schools in the black areas just GONE . . .. now the 50 schools is being House for Venezuela who just moved into the black community ... Its so sad .... 💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💯
