China has four unique variants circulating. Ban all direct flights from China or place a 30 day quarantine period paid for by the visitors. If we don’t act now expect these variants on your doorsteps.

It’s selfish to travel when you know you have COVID

"There's a huge pent up demand for travel globally" - Why do people travel? It sounds like obligation rather than recreation or leisure.

There have been 12 Omicron sub mutations to come from China since the start of December, 4 have not been seen outside of it. You can't blame the US for being cautious.
There is a pretty big chance we will get another full variant that we have no immunity to.

2:43 economic benefit *is* prioritized when travelers from china are asked for a negative cvd19 test and also being tested on site. because if they enter a country freely for tourism and start a new wave of p andemic - the country might need to shut down, and even if not - economy still would slow down.
china's the one to speak after having have had such inhvmane restrictions and also after not alerting the world about the new v¡rus at the end of 2019 (taiwan did it instead!), and then desinfecting the area where spread was believed to have started *before* any impartial investigations could have been done.
so now please, be quiet, and quietly smoke standing aside while the countries decide their own rules of entry, of which they have every right to decide.
