Thanks for taking the time to make this review. I just purchased this alarm clock, btw. The design is fantastic, obviously. I don't need a loud alarm, as I'm a light sleeper. I agree that it would have been nice to actually hear the alarm! But again, thanks for this!

I meant it would have been nice to hear the alarm in your review... :-)

well...for me one of the most important things is to listen to alarm sound before I buy a clock. Sorry, but I don't need your description of it, it would be ESSENTIAL for a review to include that. You spent half of the time describing the design, well, I can see for myself how it looks....

Bad idea to put alarm off right next to the snooze button. I can easily see myself smashing the top of the clock to hit snooze and turning the alarm off accidentally.

I just got this alarm clock today and I could not understand why it would not connect to the radio time signal at all and in the instruction manual it only said to wait until night time to set up the clock.
But after looking on the net I found out that you do need to select one of the global options for it to work.In my case it was the DE setting that was needed for it to work here in scandinavia and after selecting DE it only took the clock 5-10 minutes to tune in on the signal and I did that during the daytime.
I am really quite angry that it did not say I needed to do this in the manual and also I had to look up what the global settings for my part of the world was on the net and it turns out that DE is Germany and scandinavia. It should have said that in the manual, so really really poor manual from Braun. The clock is also very dark to look at, so that is also a minus about it.

haha i know it was Braun who designed that particular switch first. Apple have used several Braun designs in their products which, i guess, is what made their products appear more asthtically pleasing

Please. Look up Braun's design pioneer Dieter Rams and see who influenced who.

of course, you should play the alarm for us!!! And I love my men to get manicures --it is just a nice thing to do when you are a professional, as YOU are. Thanks. I will order the clock from Braun in BLUE.

Why do you want the backlight on permantly? Do you watch the clock 24/7?

And the backlight draw quite much power from the battery and thus is nothng that shoud be in use for a longer period.

There's a small button in the back labeled RCC. Why did you ignore it?

You make a review of an alarm clock and don't you play the alarm sound??

Hmm... That switch on the side of that clock reminds me of something. Oh wait, doesn't the iPhone have an identical switch to control vibrate?

Awful review. You should have at least set the alarm to go off so we can hear it.

Can you see the time in the dark (without using the light)?

I find it amusing that you reviewed an alarm clock but chose not to demonstrate the main purpose of the device in your review!

It's pronounced "brown", FYI.

Braun is German for brown.
