Tony has CLEARLY only watched declan playing for England.
Declan carries that ball through the middle of the park for west ham like he's being doing it for 20 odd years. and the competition is far tougher in the Prem than it is at international level.
the role Southgate gives to declan is awful. its like he's not allowed to make any attacking runs through the middle of the pitch.

yes he can do a job at center half. maybe Harry Kane can do a job as a goalkeeper but they are WASTED there. silly stuff from cascerino.

The biggest improvement Rice has made in recent years is his attacking play. His dribbling and his passing are what set him apart from other defensive midfields. To suggest you strip all that back to stick him at cb is a bizarre comment indeed. Yes he’s great defensively but he’s so much more than that.

Cascarino made a good point saying Rice could play centre half but comparing Rice to absolute great player like Paul McGrath is embarrassing. McGrath ten times the player Declan Rice is or ever will be.
