SCHMIER states:
“‘Mad Butcher’ is one of the first songs we ever wrote, such a classic! I still love to perform it live, it is in my DNA meanwhile, I guess! There are a lot of memories that come along with this track and the history of the band.
We brought back the double-lead section from the EP version into the solo part; many fans have reacted at that during the live shows, which is really cool! But this DVD will also have some nice surprises, some songs we have not played live in decades…!”

DESTRUCTION on their first release with Napalm Records:
“This show at our fave club, the Z7 in Switzerland, was a really special one in the middle of this dreadful pandemic! When we recorded it as a live stream on the 1st of January, it gave us hope back and connected us with the fans worldwide! Many supporters demanded to release it in physical form, so we had to make it happen. The setlist reflects four decades of DESTRUCTION with an almost two hour best-of setlist, which includes some really rare live tracks! It was for sure a night to remember… we hope you all enjoy it as much as we did!"

Think about this. This song is 40 years old and the sound is still relevant today. Think about the music that was 40 years old when this came out and how much it all changed in those 40 years.

Destruction was a major influence for Morbus Inferno. We did 3 covers of this fantastic band, being "Curse The Gods", "Total Desaster" and "Death Trap". Congratulations on the Video! Big hug !

Damn! Whoever did the sound recording and mixing for this deserves a raise. The production is better than the original studio recording.

I saw these guys open for Celtic Frost in 1989. They seem to get better with age 😎🤘

Love this band and I continue to support via purchases…In response to discussions about this band’s material from the the last 20 years compared with their earlier efforts: It seems they need to shy away from the focus on a standard song writing format and rely on the riffs to be embellished while adding and flowing into each other and once again let the dark, evil vocals compliment the main focus of the riffings . Thrash contrasted from standard metal by having the vocals complimenting the riffs. When vocal lines are the main focus you get black album material or Judas Priest- which is a band whose vocalist’s range and melody can sustain a song, but with thrash that’s not what we signed up for when listening to this sub genre. That’s why standard song writing format does not do too well as thrash vocalists abandon their earlier song writing styles. Here’s the secret: if you rely on great riffing, the vocal overlaying will in turn be more memorable, regardless, and will contain great hooks, from great riffs comes more greatness— that was the beauty of being present in the 80s.
