I applaud 2K for moving the series into a different setting. It shows they are not simply interested in money but in creating a whole new environment to keep the series exciting and with different challenges. Yes 2K, you will be getting my $99 on launch day.

Come on aviation was at its peak of popularity during the early 20th century. From 1900-WW1, that's what prompted the creators to set the story in the air

I like the whole America feel. Its very different from the dark feelling of the original bioschock. It brings a kind of positive light to the scene. At the same time its going to be interesting because there will be day and night and the contrasting times will bring entirely different emotional feels with them. Also I noticed that this rapture looked like it wasnt in nearly as much turmoil although that could easily change.

@Spoc1012 From what I've heard about the game is that it is and it is not. It takes place in 1912, but the developers, Irrational Games, are really done with Rapture. In their words, at the end of the original Bioshock they "felt we had said all we wanted to say with Rapture, but we weren’t done with the idea that is BioShock [which] is so much more than a story of a single place or a single time." It may very well have nothing to do with the original game. Note: They did not make Bioshock 2.

Reminds of the first Bioshock's Debut Trailer with the main character's untimely demise. Looks sweet keep up with the great work, sucks it's coming out in 2012 though

To all the people that think 2k Games is making this, they aren't. The original devs of Bioshock 1, Irrational Games, is developing this one. That means this game will be as great as the first one was and not as drawn out as the second one was.

@KillSwitch66627 Rapture was built in the 1940's. This game takes place in 1912. And honestly if the 3rd game took place underwater I might not even buy it. I think we've had enough with the underwater theme, it was a good idea for them to mix things up a little in my opinion.

Ken Levine wasn't involved in BS2 because he was busy creating this seemingly brillitant masterpiece for US, the BioShock fans who walk away from his first game completely amazed.
I'm sure we can trust him to keep us faithfully attached to BioShock.

This is an awesome trailer although I don't know if it'll fit well into the storyline based on Bioshock 1 and 2. Maybe there's a new twist. If there is, hopefully it'll be just as captivating as the first one and support this game's reputation of having one of the best, most compelling storylines in the history of games. AND they're making a movie about this game that's supposed to come out later that year as well. They Better Not Screw That Up Because This Game Is Awesome!

@WheresMyElefant Bioshock 1. During Bioshock 1 they became known as 2K Boston, then went back to the original company name, which is Irrational Games, during the making of this one.

Bioshock takes place in the 1940s, this game takes place in 1893, so it's more like a prequel to the original than a spinoff
