Adopt-A-Beach : Week 1

Adopt-A-Beach is for active people wanting to help protect their local environment. A daily record of the junk picked up from just one small beach in New Zealand is posted each week. It is something that can be done daily, weekly or less often if you only get to the beach a few times a year. Many beach cleanups focus on the big items, and particularly plastic bottles. However, we also need to pick up the fragments of paint, artificial fabric, twine and rope, polyethylene or plastic products, polystyrene, fibreglass etc that litter our estuaries and beaches - however small.
