Im suspicious of any leader of a school system that doesn't even enroll their own children in said school system.

So she just admitted her precious white daughter doesn’t even attend a CPS school? Wow our tax paying money must be paying for those private classes

"You're doing a great job, Mayor Lightfoot!"
...said no one, ever.

I’m surprised Lightfoot even entertained an interview with this reporter since he was white🤷🏽‍♂️

Why did the Mayor's team wait until Tuesday to try to offer a solution?

I heard her child was staying home from school this week due to COVID protocol.

Before this escalated to reach this point CTU voted for remote until the situation of cases starts clearing up. Which... I think is just a temporary solution. I wish that Mayor Lightfoot could acknowledge the concerns of CTU for our safety by providing measures to ensure it is "safe" as mandatory request for temperature checks everyday before entering or requirement of vaccination and those that are already vaccinated should return. Until she lifts ban of teachers from accessing their accounts, nothing will happen. This is ridiculous, I agree with Lightfoot that we are fully capable of returning but she's not handling the situation very well. She's persistent and stubborn which could only angers CTU further. No accommodation.

Sorta like how she unilaterally implemented the vaccination mandate and continues to NOT follow the science? 🤔

We have to stop ignoring the teachers. In order to get this right they have to take care of the teachers and hire more then move on to the next issue which would be the kids and their grades. Chicago isn’t taking care of the teachers. Chicago acting as if they are not relevant. They don’t get paid enough and don’t have the protection they need

Another lovely day on the Democratic plantation!

How about for the next two weeks at least, most go remote, but allow kids to come to school and work on their chromebooks. I mean, it beats having to do no learning done at all.

Once again, putting politics before logic and public heath!

Just want to point out that Many Other Chicagoland school districts have slid into remote after winter break……student/teacher absences were way up Monday and Tuesday….the teachers are not on strike it’s a work stoppage for unsafe working conditions

She lied and said that other schools in Chicago are in person. That was an intentional lie. How is it that there’s a vaccine mandate to go into a restaurant because of covid increase but kids and teachers vaccinated or not can be with each other all day without proper protective measures? I don’t get that logic.
