Anna Nikulina with Mikhail Lobukhin, Choreography by Yuri Grigorovich

The Creator of the Universe gave people many gifts and as a result humans are capable of creating such phenomenal art. Khatchaturian's music is really something else!... i've noticed that many rockers and pop composers borrowed or "stole" music ideas from him. Ballet "Spartacus" was written in 1953.

I think it was truly very ugly of the Romans to force gladiator slaves to fight each other to death. This was their ugly and disgusting satanic entertainment.

And BTW, Satan is a disgusting dirty ugly stupid lying murderous scumbag of all scumbags, whom the Lord Jesus Christ is going to fry in the Lake of Fire very very soon.

Spartacus led his rebellion against injustice, oppression, cruelty, and evil...
Satan the IDIOT, is leading the rebellion against justice and love, against our dear Most High God, our loving Heavenly Father.

Please choose Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and reject and defy the devil!

That one handed lift when she raises her second leg is stunning. I've never seen anything remotely like it.

The genius of Khachaturian is well matched by the superb performance of the dancers.

Saw this pairing of Anna Nikulina with Mikhail Lobukhin, live in Spartacus at Covent Garden last month and it really was something special.

This is the most beautiful choreograph of this piece that I've seen, and the dancers' execution is passionate, perfect and real. A fitting tribute to Katchaturian's astonishingly evocative and passionate music.

It's rare in my experience, but every now and then a man, an artist, comes along who is capable of intuiting the true heart of the archetypal Feminine, expressed as the Goddess in the heat of Her deepest passion and devotion... Her deep yearning, like the moth drawn to the candle flame, Her longing for eternal union in the living bonfire of holy sexual love and devotion. If this music can be considered indicative, Katchaturian was without a doubt one of those men.

How I would have loved to have met and known this man. Speaking as one, it's always a question with artists whether their work is an authentic outpouring of the artist's own soul, or a matter of being overshadowed by an archetype or muse, or a combination of both. You can never really know for certain until you meet the person, and for most of us, also get to know them. Either situation can be the case, and neither one is necessarily preferential. It's just a matter of how an artist receives their inspiration.

Thanks for the opportunity to see this beautiful choreography again!

Бессмертный гимн любви! Они прощаются навсегда. От этого сцена невыносимо печальная до слез.

Her dancing, in particular, is simply exquisite!

While Anna's dancing is exquisite, not enough praise is awarded to Mikhail. His well-balanced steps to the music in
his entrance are perfectly timed, his expressive open arms are both manly and sensitive, and his dancing throughout
is remarkable and memorable.

Ever since that gorgeous scene in IF, I've fallen so deeply in love with this adagio. For the first time in my life, I've started to appreciate ballet on a deeper level!

Как же хорош в этой роли Михаил Лобухин! При всей мужественности и героичности - такая нежность к своей любимой! Браво!!!

Nikulina & Lobukhin ; the most intense & believable. I never believe for a second that Zakharova desires & misses him as much !

The choreography to this adagio is as exquisite as the music is superb. The dancers are spectacular in the roles of Phrygia and Spartacus. It gave me goosebumps. I am also a composer (of pop music). Many years ago I woke up one morning with this music in my head - I thought I had composed it in my sleep! But my brain must have memorized it back when I saw Spartacus on TV as a child in the 1950's. WFMT Chicago radio played it this Saturday morning 5/9/2020. I'm so glad I was awake to hear it (while I was sewing components for covid19 pandemic masks). This is the first time I have ever heard this composition on the radio! I will love it forever as one of my top fave pieces of music. As a Christian, I only wish the description would have been a positive message.
