IT rules are not "meaningless". They provide guidelines to ensure all technology follows the short and long term IT strategies. This video has all the signs of someone who doesn't know what the IT strategy is, why it exists, or that it even exists.

There are legitimate reasons to make a case for an exception, but to claim that you need an exception because the IT policies are "meaningless" is extremely naive. Perhaps if you spent more time trying to understand IT policies than trying to circumvent them you wouldn't constantly be at odds with IT.
