Cafellissimo Review - Paperless Pour Over Coffee Filter

My thoughts and review of the Cafellissimo coffee filter. Is the Cafellissimo Pour Over Coffee Maker worth buying? I used this single-piece stainless steel paperless coffee filter daily over a 2 week period and it worked great, in fact I bought my own filter to add to my travel kitchen. The paperless filter is well constructed and ideal for making a single cup of coffee.

Here are some alternative paperless pour over coffee filters and comparison prices on Amazon.

Cafellissimo Pros:
--Simply makes great coffee (of course, the right coffee bean is always key).
--You don’t need paper filters, so no waste.
--Made of stainless steel, not plastic; important if you think hot water and plastic are a poor match.
--Perfect for a quick, single cup of coffee.
--Compact, convenient coffee gadget perfect for travel.

Cafellissimo Cons:
--More expensive than other pour over coffee drippers.
--The double-walled mesh filter must be cleaned well after each use.
--Not the best option if making more than 1 or 2 cups of coffee at a time.

I love coffee, and I brew it at home almost every day. I also enjoy getting coffee out at coffee shops, but freshly brewed coffee at home is always best, and the Cafellissimo pour over coffee maker is ideal for travel, so I’ll be buying one to keep in my “travel kitchen”.

If you already have a better travel coffee system, feel free to comment on the youtube video and let me know. I really enjoy my French Press coffee, but a French press does not travel very well.

Since we've been house sitting, I have a "travel kitchen" I keep in the car, and I bought one of these paperless filters to add to it...I'll do an update video in 4-6 months. Hope everyone carpe diems and enjoys the weekend!

I have this filter. Use it everyday. Never have problems with clogging. Coffee tastes much better without the paper. Better transfer of oils and fine silt. Cleaning is easy. Just scoop the grounds into trash or compost and then rinse it out. Done. Best coffee ever.

I don't use a spoon on mine. I bang it out in the trash, and then spray it out with my sink sprayer. After that it sits and dries. Once a week I chuck it in the dishwasher. Doesnt need any special treatment. That was one of the main reasons I got into the pour over coffee to begin with. It's easy, and no fuss. My old coffee maker was always moldy because I was constantly forgetting to pull the filter, or I made to much coffee and it went to waste. This way I can use the cup I'm drinking from to "measure" my water, my electric kettle boils it. I pee and feed my dogs, and get my coffee ready, and then pour over and out the door I go. This is BY far my favorite method of making coffee. (Absolutely hated the French press and the aeropress was even worse.)

If you don't use a clear cup, there's an easy way to measure how much water to use: Fill the cup with with the amount you want in it. Transfer to the pot, that'll be close to the amount you want to use.

Been doing pour over for yrs. Get a mesh sink strainer so you can dump majority of coffee in trash then rinse the rest out with hot water inside and out. When done, dump sink strainer. Easy. Only way to go. Once every two weeks will use soapy hot water to deep clean. Been using the same metal pour over for 5 yrs. No clogging at all. The key is to rinse immediately with hot water thoroughly.

my earliest coffee memory is watching my grandparents make coffee in a percolator.

Nice review, Chef Buck!! This looks like a must buy for coffee lovers. I like how you demonstrate and provide plus and minus of using it. Looking forward to more reviews besides recipes as usual :) have a nice weekend

My Melita individual sits on the cup and makes a great cup of coffee. Regular filters will work in it as well as the Melita brand. Fast and easy no muss cleanup. I also have the larger 10 cup for bigger pots of coffee. Both are great for travel.

Great tutorial. I only have one suggestion. After making the coffee, reheat and then put the milk in to avoid heating the milk or half and half.

I love my French Press coffee maker. Even so, I don’t like to chew my coffee. So I use the same coffee filter you use here, but I put a non-bleached paper, cone filter, pour the coffee from the press through the paper filter and cleanup is a breeze. Yes, it’s a bit much, but I get the best cup of coffee there is. Skol !! ☕️

I have read some people say when it clogs up and vinegar and water will not unclog it to put it on a stove burner and heat it up and it will burn the oils out of it just a tip

That was a hell of a lot of ground coffee for a single cup.

In theory could you use this with a kuerig just let the hot water pour into it since it already measures out the right amount of water?

Uncle buck check out the nanopresso coffee maker. It's pump action, just like I like it. It's a portable travel espresso maker. It's been the best thing I've bought this year 👍
