Welcome to this First Times Guitar Tutorial by Ed Sheeran!
When I first heard this song, I thought "This is classic Ed Sheeran - a beautiful acoustic love song" and he even said it himself - "The reason “First Times” is at this point in the album is so there can be an intake of breath from my fans, like, ‘OK, cool, there are songs on here for us.’ This is pretty much classic me format. "

It's up there with one of my favourite songs from the album and is actually really easy to play on guitar once you get the main picking pattern down. After that it's just about applying it to each chord shape.

In the lesson I'll teach you 2 different ways of playing the song. The studio fingerpicked version and an easy strummed version if you just want to strum and sing along.

i'd memorize the chords first by plucking the base note string then apply the plucking later after a lot of practice.
