Jean Bart in her final configuration was a gorgeous warship. A real shame neither she nor Richelieu were preserved.

Even when she was incomplete, Jean Bart did have a gun duel with USS Massachussets.
Of course, her being incomplete and stationary meant she would lose.

My pure anger intensifying after discovering another ship being scrapped instead of being turned into museum

The Sauvignon Blanc class battle ships were mostly of a good vintage and replaced the obsolete Escargot class ships...

Good timing, I was having some amazing games with the Richelieu in World of Warships, amazing guns and almost 40 knot speed with the right skills.Very cool and unique ships for sure

The Dunkerque's had 330mm or 13in guns not 13.6in guns just a minor correction

The G is not silent in Gneisenau and "ieu" is not one syllable in Richelieu.

That bow section was built for a torpedo or dive bomber.

Atlantic Naval and localized European Sea Warfare in World War II didn't ever factor into the advancement of Naval Warfare in general. Aircraft Carrier warfare was pioneered by America and the Japanese and those naval engagements on the Pacific Front, the largest battlefield in world history remain the blueprint of Naval operations to this day. Yeah, I like to also understand the history of nations who were still at least a generation behind America at that time.

If the Alsace was made then it would have been over for the Germans

8 15 inch guns from the bow is so intimidating. It's a broadside without turning broadside.

Anyone else know this battleship from Modern Warships?

Incorrect. French never used 15-inch guns because, even though they are literally French, even they are not that braindead. They used 380 mm guns as any normal nation would

Wait so when the Germans occupied France, did the British seize the ship?
