So, who am I again?
I'm Dianne, aka ShePrompts. I'm a professional writer, an indie author, and a former marketing analyst who can't draw a straight line with a ruler but I have enough imagination to get me into more trouble than usual...thanks to #AI.
I do #leonardoAITutorials or tutorials for other #AIImageGenerators I like. Of course, I'll show off some of my #AIArt (because why not?!) but I may also throw in some Image or ChatGPT #promptengineering tips as well.

While I came here to learn more about creating AI images using Leonardo AI, allow me, if you will, to explain a bit about "aperture" as relating to a camera lens. Simply put a low number (f/stop) creates a short depth of field (DOF) meaning that objects closer to the lens and further away from the lens in relation to your [ primary subject ] will not be in clear focus. Conversely, a higher number f/stop (eg: f/8, f/10, f/11, etc) creates a greater DOF, meaning objects (or even portions of your [ primary subject ] will be in better focus "closer to and further away" from your point of focus. Actually there are three main settings (on a camera) that determine the amount of light in the final image; 1 - Aperature, 2 - Shutter speed and 3 - ISO. Basically ISO determines (or affects) the quality) of the light striking the camera's Sensor (or in the case of film cameras), the speed and quality at which light affects the light sensitive emulsion on the film. So when you say "changing the aperture will darken the image", this in not entirely accurate. When taking a picture, one needs to consider all three settings; ISO, Shutter speed and Aperture - these three factors affect one another....or work in concert to achieve the amount of darkness of the final image. This is a simplified explanation of aperture in relation to other factors or setting. This is why your prompt pertaining to "street photography", shot at a "wide open" aperture of f/1.8 blurred the background but put your main subject, (the old man) in near perfect focus. Not so much because of the focal length of the lens (35mm). Actually you could have achieved the same results using a much longer lens, say a 70mm or even a 200mm lens. Of course the "quality of a lens" determines, to some extent, the quality of the picture. Now I have a question. Is 1024 (long side) the largest size one can produce using Leonardo AI? I would require much, much larger sizes for my artwork.

Uhm cool, you learned about how the aperture or something can make your images look better

But I feel like you just wasted my time...
Because I clicked to learn what you know and not to be in your trial and error process

I can't even replicate it in my own prompts
