Auston Matthews reportedly to be named captain of the Leafs

TSN's Darren Dreger reporting that Matthews will take over the captaincy from John Tavares in a news conference tomorrow.

who cares. They are still the same team. Nothing really changed except the "A" on his jersey changed to a "C". They will still be eliminated in the first round.
Problem with the Leafs is not who the captain is but who the fans are. Fans keep showing up to games and buying Leafs Jerseys, TV Cable packages and other Leafs garbage the owners will never have any incentive to change or put a winning team on the ice. At least Harold Ballard was honest with everyone when he said why should he put a winning team on the ice when people still show up in the stands. All this change does is give the owners an opportunity to sell more jerseys as fans swap their "Mathews" jerseys with the "A" on it to one with a "C" And in May they will be crying when the Leafs are eliminated again. Until the fans change there won't be any change on the ice.
