I am heartened by King Dr. McPherson's insight and recommendations. As demonstrated by China, this can be accomplished. It is the economic shift/reset that is in motion, however, from which I fear we will never recover.

There are a couple of things that come to mind regarding a rolling shut-down. With Just-In-Time inventory systems in place, and an entirely interdependent global economy, it's going to be extra hard for any industrial region to operate with a sector or two of our global industry on the sidelines. And how do we choose the industrial regions that continue business operations (presumably spreading the virus all the while) while a different industrial area gets to shelter themselves?

Germany did the unthinkable and shot down its auto industry just this past week. Almost no cars in the streets. People here were told to stay at home. Most are doing that. Everything is closed down. It is even stricter in France, Italy and Spain. The US looks to be 3-4 weeks behind the EU.
