another day, another aesthetic. today we look at the clean girl or that girl aesthetic which does not seem to get less popular lately. it's an esthetic that involves skincare, make-up, fitness, diet culture, fashion, interior design etc. we look at its many contradictions, problematic aspects, and what it tries to get right.

it has the same appeal to me as the classic french girl, because it seems so effortlessly beautiful, which is so much the opposite of what the beauty industry tries to tell us...

then again in reality, it's so much effort, depends largely on perfect biology, and the beauty industry is making so much cash from those trends...

I would love it if you did a video on the history of brands and our decisions to buy them or not (e.g. Chanel being a nazi, current scandals, etc). Like how much of the artist influences you to invest in their art or refrain? Knowing some brands are problematic (race, body shaming, etc) means I can’t in all good conscience buy them. But how much should the consumer forgive??? Love your videos btw!

There I was thinking that a "clean girl" was someone who is fresh and natural, with minimal or no makeup. With a subtle but classy style. Nice clean, natural skin.

As a guy, I would go for the clean or natural girl every single time, if I wasn't already attached lol. So sick of artificial, caked on makeup, tattoos, etc like some desperate, pathetic need for attention.

A classy, minimal look also implies good values, morals and other classy behavior. Those are the traits that smart men look for. The best type of woman to invest in and build together with!
