Me and my partner bought a new build, 5-bed detached from Charles Church & absolutely love it - not had any major issues, few snags at the beginning but they were all sorted pretty quickly. We wanted to buy a home we can grow into, rather than buy again

Funny watching this. We’ve still not had snagging sorted after 5 years! Example of shoddy work was bath waste pipe wasn’t even plumbed in so whole bath of water emptied through floor into garage on day one.

I could never buy a new build, paper thin walls and no land.

I can see the appeal to having one but youd need a minimalistic life due to the lack of outside.

My garden is huge, it's the best part.

The land i have, a developer would build about 4 houses on it by todays standards.

Hi good info on pros and cons, you said its nice and warm in winter because well insulated, so what about in the summer months is it very warm inside?
like a greenhouse because so well insulated? Also who are the best builders to go with and who to steer clear of. Thanks Kevin

I like your house but I couldn't live with the garden being so overlooked, that seems to be the case for most of the new builds I've seen. Your new build looks well made but there is so many dodgy ones, quickly and cheaply made.
