Not Everyone Enters Heaven... Are you Denying Yourself to Do God's Will?

I would like to talk about how we can live according to God's will.

In Matthew 7 21, Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.”

In John 6 63, Jesus said, "The Spirit gives life the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.

In John chapter 3 5 through 6, regarding the importance of being born again of the Holy Spirit,

Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.”

And Jesus showed us an example of how a person whose spirit is alive by the Holy Spirit should live in the spirit, not the flesh.

Although Jesus is God, he took on flesh and lived a life of constant self-denial to do the will of God the Father.

In John 5 30, Jesus said, "By myself I can do nothing I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.”

In John 6 38, Jesus said, "For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.

In John 12 50, Jesus said, "I know that his command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say.”

Therefore, those who want to follow Jesus and live according to God's will must deny themselves.

In Luke 9 23, Jesus said, "Then he said to them all "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”

In 1 John chapter 2 16 through 17, the apostle John said, "For everything in the world--the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does--comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever."
