The Rev. Al Sharpton, founder and president of National Action Network, spoke Thursday on the final night of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, an evening focused on the future as Kamala Harris formally accepts her party’s nomination for president.

The civil rights leader denounced the harm that Trump has caused to marginalized communities over his career, from downplaying the actions of neo-Nazis in the 2017 “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, to calling for the execution of the wrongly accused Central Park Five in 1989.
"In November, we going to show him when Blacks do their job," Sharpton said. "And we are going to join with whites and browns and Asians, and we're going to do a job on those that have done a job on us."

Harris’ speech is her first official chance to offer her vision for the country to voters. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz formally accepted the vice presidential nomination the day before.
