John is Wonderful Christian man who met my son when inmate at Chino, CA. When I visited son soon after, Ellie was there alone looking at my son. Their visits were for one of my son’s buddies at Chino. God bless John, he will be with his last wife, “his smile”, one day in Heaven!! Love the great General Lee of civil war.

If we insist on becoming the tv personalities we grew up with, I, for one, am excited to see the “Duke” vibe is still alive and well. Name one thing wrong with the idea of “good old boys” the way the song, the show, and the bulk of fans understand and feel it. If you do find a problem, I suggest you go to the mirror and explain it and see how ridiculous it sounds. Go John! Keep the vibe alive and may God bless you

John has one heckuva voice.
I think its one of the best "Country" voices I've ever heard, but I could see him singing any genre.
And you know what?
Tom Wopat has a pretty darned good voice himself.
