I guess they were smart enough to know the boys would also be questioned by LE and they couldn't very well have them saying something like, "The last time we saw her was a week ago, " or anything along that line.

They had to report her missing because some Sunday and they wanted to go to church people would have asked where Summer was. Whoever else came to the property regularly would start to ask where Summer was - even if they were druggie friends. The West Family waited two months, but eventually even they had to report the children missing as it would not go unnoticed for ever. The longer they wait to report the child missing the more guilty they look and the more questions they had to answer. Candus had enough time to cover something up - a whole 3 hours.

Good point. Although they do have to call at some point, they don't have to call so soon because no one is going to miss her (there's no school the following day, etc.). In the case of the Maccanns, for example, the creche and the friends would notice she was missing.

I do believe she wondered of and was taken by someone but Candus being guilty of not taking care of Summer lied about the the time

Morning Harsh..I agree with a lot people here are saying, this case is so over the top, but being from a rural part of the south..if your child goes missing you had better call 911 or they will hit you with why didn't you call asap. I wonder if we will ever find out the truth.

Summer's shaved head must be integral to the scenario of her disappearance. It wasn't due to lice or snarls. She wasn't going to start school with 1" hair. She wasn't going to start school. She had no school outfit. There was no accident. This was planned or at least anticipated, and not by someone unknown to Summer's family. In my opinion, maybe.

The Wells never had to call, they could easily have sent Grandus to Wisconsin and said Summer went with her and is now living there with family church friends — nobody would have questioned anything

I've wondered about this as well. Although, she possibly could've been missing for some time, even a few hours before Candus called Don.

The more people they told the more believable. Why has the original 911 call not been released. All we are left with is a whole lot of why's!! Candus knows exactly what happened to Summer. I also think she moved Summers body the week of the drama with Don's phone. Tim Mullins knows. He "downloaded " the contents of the phone..why???

That's a very good point that I hadn't considered before. Candus called several people, even if you take 911 out of it. She told at least 3 people that Summer was missing. Maybe she had to report it because she needed a story for Don? That's the only way I can make it kind of make sense. Candus did something, needed to have a cover story so Don didn't know she was involved or simply being neglectful, so she came up with the missing story. Out of Don's own mouth we've heard that he told Candus daily to watch Summer, don't let anything happen to Summer." Now she's screwed up the ONE thing he supposedly told her daily, she has to cover her a** with him.

There are so many YouTubers on this who are SUPER frustrating to listen to. Their content is wasteful of time. I'm also astounded at how many ppl buy and are even obsessed with whatever they're putting out there! Ack.
If a case is solved quickly, that's awesome. But you're spot on in that it simply doesn't always work the way people expect it to. Some are, imo, wrongly blaming LE.
Only absolute evidence is what we have to go with. If you have a theory that leads to a dead end, hopefully you didn't marry that theory!
The pressure to solve this case is immense. Ppl don't realize there's motive for LE officers to solve it, and a Prosecution to then win it. It's a huge feather in their cap.
All that to say, I'm cool with waiting for the truth. A good investigator doesn't marry his theory. ;)

Maybe to establish a scenario that she went missing is why she contacted Robin and H, so they could verify her story, also if CPS were coming the next day she had to have a reason why Summer wasn’t there.

IMO Robin didn't seem to concerned about her missing. Took her time. even ate supper. & then had other things to do before a frantic CW called for help. Actions speak louder than words. (On the C.Mc.)

Going again back to the boys…they are old enough and there is 3 of them. If she were just gone 🤷‍♀️ they would probably say call 911 🤷‍♀️ As far as calling everyone else she needed a witness or two.
