Go to 👉 www.theprofitmuseum.com to sign up for my free newsletter! Once a week I send it out and talk about all things biz, marketing, and side hustles. I go a lot more in depth compared to my vids. Thanks guys!! ❤️

For anyone watching this: do not do what he did. He used a metal tool on a bloated battery which can cause it to puncture, and explode. always use plastic tools on a bloated battery.

That shot of the metal back being scratched to bits almost made me cry😢

For future reference, it you’re removing a battery, do NOT use a screwdriver, it could puncture the battery, which could cause a fire or explosion. It also releases hydrogen sulphide which is a corrosive and poisonous gas. Be careful please 🙏🏼

Man, I remember my green iPod mini. I got one when I was a junior in HS in 2007 and even though it was an older one (at the time) I still felt like a million bucks. It was the first glimpse at the future of technology. I was only able to load songs on it once since you had to plug it into a computer and download Apple Music to be able to load songs on it, but I still listened to those songs and loved it.

For anyone attempting to do this:

Please use alcohol or acetone or something that loosens adhesive before peeling the battery off.

This guy is super lucky he didn't puncture the battery.

You sir picked one of, if not the hardest of the iPod classics to open. The 6th to 7th gen iPods are known for being almost impossible to open without scratching the hell out of them. If want something easier to open then get a 5th gen iPod classic.

I recently did this to an iPod Touch 4th Generation. The trick is to use a heat gun around the edges, but don't overdo it. I did use a metal tool to get started prying, but once I was able to lift the face a tiny bit I switched using bread clips, reheating the edges when necessary. It worked wonderfully. Just take your time.

Never use metal tools to remove a battery. That spicy pillow bursts, then you're in trouble.

Those scratches on the case from using the tools to open it are painful to my OCD.

Nothing felt better than the UI and controls on those old ipods.

That is what we in the iPod modding community like to call one spicy pillow
