At Kirinyaga there was greater and more harmonised gathering to influence where he had all the audience to himself than at the Nyeri service where he could not have opportunity to air his mind due to the president's presence and also avoided the risk of being humiliated. So he opted "not to leave the centenary celebration cake" and go to the Nyeri function.
